What is the GDPR?

The GDPR is the new European General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO). With the DSGVO is the previousPrivacy Policy (1995) adapted to the digital age: it is being modernized and updated. How must today with personal data to be dealt with? The requirements are laid down in the GDPR. The DSGVO comes into force from May 25, 2018.

 

What is personal data?

Personal data is information about a user that allows conclusions about who it is. Personal data includes information such as name, date of birth, e-mail addresses, social security numbers, bank details, online data but also physical characteristics such as gender or dress size. How personal data must be handled is regulated by the GDPR.

 

What does GDPR mean?

Instead of the German term DSGVO is often the English expression «General Data Protection Regulation», short: GDPR, used.


Who concerns the GDPR?

The GDPR concerns all companies which have a branch in the EU and/or process data of EU citizens. So for example k-sales.ch GmbH, because customers in the EU with k-sales.ch GmbH work.

 

Why does the GDPR also affect Swiss companies?

If a Swiss company also has a seat in the European Union (EU) or, more often, if a company processes personal data of EU citizens, then the GDPR also applies to this company.

 

What advantages does the DSGVO offer for users?

The new regulation will get users more control about her personal data. The GDPR contains principles and rights for users, such as information such as names, date of birth, e-mail addresses, social security numbers, bank details, online data but also physical characteristics such as gender or dress size may be processed.

 

What does the DSGVO mean for companies?

The DSGVO makes companies more responsible and requires more detailed documentation on how personal data is processed.

 

Is k-sales.ch GmbH DSGVO compliant?

Yes. When the new European General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) comes into force, we as provider fulfill the legal requirements.

 

What is a contract processing contract (GCU)?

The contract processing contract specifies the framework conditions, such as personal data on behalf of your company to third parties – in this case k-sales.ch GmbH – outsourced for processing and processed.

 

Do I need a contract processing contract (AVV, formerly: ADV)?

If you are a company based in the European Union (EU) or you process personal data of EU citizens, then the GDPR also applies to you. You must then u.a. also with k-sales.ch GmbH conclude an order processing contract (AVV) to be compliant with data protection.
